Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) has been deployed in over 1500
contracts, in all 5 continents and is used in the biggest integrated
network in Europe enabling roaming across borders. The radio
system has delivered outstanding new capabilities to millions of
clients and the economies of scale help to keep pricing down for high
tech products. TETRA has done for radio what GSM did for cellular
telephony. While not quite the same technology, the concept for
TETRA is best demonstrated in the USA under the name iDen by Nextel. Features  Motorola MTH500 ECL’s Next Generation Radio network delivers the following features: Press To Talk - conversation in normal radio mode Individual Talk – talk privately one to one Interconnect Mode – Use the radio as if it was a cell phone. Full duplex cellular quality speech. It can be connected to its own BTC number or your PBX. Voice mail for inter-connect calls and individual calls. SDS – text messaging. WAP – Wireless Application Protocol enables business applications to be delivered to the handset or in vehicle mobile. Low speed data connectivity – ideal for occasional, emergency or secure use such as credit card lines. A host of security, alarm, temperature tracking and logging applications are available. The most modern handsets and vehicle mobiles can have GPS built in to manage corporate dispatch. Point to Point mode - Direct Mode Operation for use in ships, tunnels or for private groups such as hotels. A limited communication capability is retained even if the entire network was destroyed. The network is secure. Additional unique features depending on handset: Vibracall alerting, text and voice messaging Gateway from building site, hotel or boat into the main network.. Ideal for extending range or coverage from otherwise impossible locations. Canned messaging capability – use in dispatch, Police, Fire, taxis, hotel etc. Radio and phone directory, just like a cell phone and includes caller ID. Dispatch Terminal or Gateway We have solutions to deliver cost effective dispatch terminals either mobile or in the office. Internet gateways may also be used to deliver text message instructions, GPS location and state information. Tailored Service to Help Power Your Business We can tailor your connections to meet your business needs. To keep the cost of service reasonable for this advanced system we limit voice telephone and individual calls during busy times. You can have any limit or bar set for individual subscribers. For example international calling can be barred or direct linking to your PBX is also possible.  Motorola MTH800 Teamwork If your clients use ECL you may make individual calls to your client or supplier free. Try that on any other radio or cell phone network. Private Local Service (for hotels, golf courses etc) ECL can deliver local repeaters using the same Next Generation Radio technology. A local repeater would be installed by ECL but would attract no additional monthly service fees when used locally. The advantage is that managers, duty servicemen, on call staff can use the same radio locally or Island wide. If the need arises, such as a major conference, the entire radio fleet can be deployed Island wide on a temporary basis. Accessories An extensive range of accessories are available to order. Notes The Interconnect Service while cellular like is not meant to be a substitute for a heavy cell phone user. The system is designed to deliver cost effective communications for your business. It is ideal for dispatch, mobile and team based work groups who value customer support and contact. Call restrictions help management to keep the workforce focused on the job. ECL NGR Service is ideal for contingency communications for emergencies, hurricane, or a substitute for cellular in emergency use. The network is much more resilient than a cellular network. Dispatcher workstations can track all your groups call activity including when the radio was switched on and off. Management may request an individual’s call activity log for a fee.
